Socks and Thighs

Today's outfits are in honor of delicious, magnificent, tender, chunky baby thighs.  I mean, just look at them!

Soooo...why not a bodysuit and kneesocks?  Eh?

Rep'ing my home state of Ohio in a bodysuit that I have a matching tank top of (got mine before I knew these girls were ever going to exist).  Get your baby one here and your mama one here!  Then you can match us too!

You might be wondering why they are wearing mismatched socks.  WELL I have an answer for you. I got them these adorable socks from Zulily, and just now finally pulled them out to wear them. Somehow in the receiving, washing, folding, and putting away, I never realized that the two grey ones were mismatched. Instead of two foxes, I had a fox and an owl.  Hmmmm.  Mysterious.  Instead of one girl matching with her cats, and the other not matching, I decided they could both be mismatched for extra cuteness,

The end.

& you & you & you

If you don't know what these onesies are all about, then I'm sad for you.  Go watch some TV.

(onesies from RedBubble, although I don't think the Buffy one exists anymore, and pants from Zulily)

Stylish Six Months

These babies turned six months old on Sunday!  For the first time I'm feeling more, "I can't believe how big my babies are getting" and less, "THIS HAS BEEN THE LONGEST PERIOD OF MY LIFE EVER!"  I still feel some of the latter, but they are just doing so much now.  They are busy all the time, and keeping us busy all the time.

Luckily, their fashion sense remains impeccable into their seventh month.  Here's what they've been wearing the last few days.

Here they are in their stylish NuNuNu outfits from their Aunt Ali. NuNuNu stuff is like ridiculous soft.  Matilda's tattoo onesie is another Zulily find that doesn't seem to exist anywhere except on Zulily.  Lake Park Kids is the brand.  Hmm.  Here's a similar, but less colorful one from Old Navy.  There are also some cute ones on Redbubble.

The next day the girls went full hipster with their jeggings from Zara (they don't seem to have these anymore, but you can get similar ones from H&M and Old Navy) and their amazing hoodie vests by Lulu and Roo.  I actually bought the hoodies in Columbus over Thanksgiving.  My favorite shop on High Street suddenly had a kid shop that is AMAZING.  Hilariously, my sister-in-law, who lives in Columbus, saw this picture and realized that she had almost bought my niece the exact same hoodie that Matilda is wearing, but on Etsy.  Knowing this brand is on Etsy is dangerous for me.  These are also, by the way, super soft.  I love soft things!  Underneath they are just wearing some simple long-sleeved onesies from Old Navy.  They don't have these exact ones anymore.

Toady the girls are sporting more Old Navy longsleeve onesies (bodysuits), but this time straight from the baby boy section.  Whatevers.  Don't put your gender binary stereotypes on my babies!  Dude!  Anyhow, again, they don't currently have the exact same ones (online, at least), but there are others, including a short sleeved DUDE one.

Leggings are Tea Collection.  I love Tea Collection, but it's pricey unless you catch a sale or a Zulily moment, so most of their Tea stuff comes from my mom when she visits.  Hi, Mom!  Thanks!  Tea is fun because they pick a different country they are inspired by each season to base their collection around.  I just got the new catalog, and it is Japanese inspired.  They tend to have really nice leggings, and in fact seem to be having a big sale right now on all of last season's stuff!  GO SHOP BUY!

OK, I almost forgot the ridiculous monster feet.  These are basically cozy soft booties, but ya know, amazing.  They were a gift from one of the Kates.  I have like at least 6 friends named Kate, and they are all awesome.  Brand is Rich Frog.

Sleepless Winter Babies

These babies used to sleep.  They used to sleep really well.  "All night!" I would brag to friends.  "Both of them!"  Now, they do not sleep.  Travel.  Jetlag. Teething.  They have become terrible sleepers.  One of them is next to me on the couch right now because we were tired of her screaming at us from the bedroom.  Luckily they are so so cute that we forget about the horrors of the night pretty quickly (until the next night comes).

I have so many summer outfits I should go back and post from Australia, and perhaps I will, but for now we are back in Bay Area winter where my girls get to dress in fabulous layers like all Bay Area cool kids do.  Here's what they wore toady for a walk to a new lunch place in town.

These onesies are some of my favorites.  Long-sleeved H&M patterned bodysuits.  These are sized 2-4 months and they definitely can't fit in them very well anymore, so I just ordered more in the 6-9 month size.  I've been totes impressed with the quality of these bad boys, and we've worn them A LOT. I also like the snap on the shoulder for easy on and off.

Pants-wise, we have a Zulily find.  If you don't already use Zulily and you think you might want to, please use this link.  We'll both get a little bonus if you do!  :)  I love Zulily and I look at it almost daily.  There is a LOT of terrible stuff, but then also some real gems.  It feels sort of like thrift store shopping or digging through the used bins at a record store.  I love that stuff.  .  Changes daily - good prices - a lot of the clothing equivalent of Hootie and the Blowfish, but then some rare amazing finds.

ANYHOW, the brand on these bad boys is Free Spirit and I can find no evidence of its existence outside of Zulily, so I dunno!  But the more you shop there, the more you see repeats,so they will likely pop up again. They are nice and cozy, but they run quite small. These are sized at 9 months, and the girls can barely squeeze into them as smaller than average 6-monthers. Get a closer look at them here and here

Last, but definitely not least, tiny jean jackets by Levi's.  Irresistible.

In the Beginning...

OK...why not?  It isn't my first blog, and it surely won't be my last.  I'll use this space to show off some of the amazing outfits Lillian (The Professor) and Matilda (The Diva) get to wear!  Unlike on Facebook, I can take some time here to show where the clothes came from (HINT: I do a lot of online bargain hunting while breastfeeding two babies for hours each day) and maybe even to sell or do giveaways of some of the more fun stuff as they outgrow it.

Good?  Good!  Anything else you'd like to see?

Thanks for the encouragement, friends!  I'll try to go back in time and do some posts on outfits past, as well.

More soon...
